Wiyanga (Mother in Darug)

This artwork celebrates and encapsulates Motherhood. It acknowledges the importance of strong connections through all generations of mothers and children.

Inside the central circle represents the endless depth of love between all mothers and their offspring.

The smaller circles depict women in the community who support and assist the mother in her important role, or when she cannot.

Small white dots symbolise connection that flows to and from all mothers and children.

The long streams of dots across the canvas represent the flow of sacred Songlines passed to and down the generations

Below, the mountains stand testament to the strong unwavering love of mothers protecting their children.
